| Engonyameni is
situated in one of the most beautiful areas in South Africa, the Eastern
Transvaal (Mpumalanga). The Lowveld lures the hunter to unique
hunting adventures. Besides hunting safaris, Engonyameni also offers
photographic safaris and cultural and battlefield tours.
Nature has painted a scene of contrasts -
apart from the vast areas of small hills and Acacia trees, mountains,
waterfalls and natural forests are combined to create a magnificent place
where our guests and the hunter feels the rhythm of Africa around him.
As the habitat boasts such a variety, many
different animal species are to be found here and quality trophies are in
abundance. Through care and conservation, Engonyameni is
securing their existence for the future.
Being in the industry for 25 years, your
hosts Danie and Karin van Graan have literally hunted everywhere!
They are very educationally orientated, and combine this with a wonderful
and exciting experience for their guests. With their excellent
service, personal touch and interest in each visitor, they have built
lasting relationships with interesting people, such us the well-known
Jeff
Cooper and his family. Most guests return often and as per their
experience, "at Engonyameni your stay here will last a lifetime...".

Conducting a trophy hunt with
Engonyameni Safaris is a lifetime experience for any dedicated hunter.
Danie has a natural ability to educate
visitors. He teaches more about:
- the various species, habitats and
judging of trophies
- the different tribes, their cultures
and how to communicate with them
- the art of shooting, tactical hunting
and tracking
"A professional hunter is first and
foremost a people person who uses his skills and knowledge of the
wilderness in such a way that others may benefit from him. He is the
catalyst who enables the client to obtain his trophy in such a manner
which is enjoyable and fulfilling and within the physical prowess of the
hunter.
When you share danger, joy, appetite and
hunger, sunrise and sunset,... then you know one another.
Friendships are born of this knowledge which would not have been possible
other than in the wild."
Don Lindsay
Hunting is conducted primarily on
Engonyameni concessions which consists of private land, owned by our
family and other owners, which cover an area of approximately 20 000
acres. However, hunting is conducted throughout the country, as well
as in other African countries, depending on the habitat of the trophies.
